Abhaya Mudra is an online resource site, created in 2009. As a "healthy living initiative", Abhaya Mudra is aimed towards supplying it's readers with plenty of current, up-to-date information and resources to help them live the healthy lifestyle they deserve. You can click any of the below options to learn even more about the site:
About the Name: In Sanskrit (a historical Indo-Aryan language) "abhaya" means fearlessness, or freedom from fear. It represents protection and it represents peace. A "mudra" alone, is a hand gesture representative of something symbolic. "Abhaya mudra" is an ancient gesture and is made by raising one arm to shoulder height (bent at the elbow), with the palm facing outward as if to say stop. It is believed that the mudra once meant friendship, especially upon approaching a stranger, which is a valuable outlook to have not only on the people you come by, but on life itself. About the Owner: My name is Ellysa, and yes I am responsible for the creation of this website! I have always felt as though there are so many inspiring things in the world, that oftentimes go so very unnoticed. Things that are helpful, and that are curative to our inadvertently destructive ways. If this site does only one thing, my hope is that it will open eyes and minds to inspire others to take care of not only themselves, but of those around them. Our world is full of negativity, artificial products, dishonesty, trickery and harmful substances. But it is also so very full of the opposites! Too many people focus on the cons, and on the bad things in the world. I think it's time we start to cherish the wonderful things that we take for granted everyday - all of the amazing things that the world so generously hands to us on a day to day basis. It will not only make us feel unimaginably light and free and healthful, but it will help us to better understand why the bad things do exist, and how we can fix them or at least safely live around them. About the Sources: Inspiration can be found anywhere and everywhere! All of the things on this website have been discovered by someone, and by someone, I don't always mean me - I mean you! Sure, I contribute plenty of the things you see here, but I am always open to suggestions and recommendations of others. In fact, I encourage it. I love to hear from you, and many of the things you bring to my attention are things that I will share. This is a community resource, and what kind of a community would it be, if I were the only person contributing! It's not a community without all of you being involved. » If there is something that you would like to share, please make it happen. | |||||
